BIOGRAPHY

Composer
 
Stephan Prock is a freelance composer and film music scholar in Boston. A talented and versatile composer of contemporarty music for soloists, chamber ensembles, orchestra, and film, his music has been widely performed both in the U.S. and internationally. In addition Prock has won a number of competitions and awards. Among these are:
  • 2014 "Festival Award" – Boston Metro Opera Contempo Competition, Art Song Category
  • 2014  Finalist – Oticons Film Music Composition Competition
  • 2014  Selected for recording of Shakespeare Bitters by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
  • 2013 "Director's Award" – Boston Metro Opera Contempo Competition, Art Song Category
  • 2006 Selected for Recording of Garden Varieties: Four Dance Vignettes by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
  • 2005 Best Original Motion Picture Score – Bare Bones International Film Festival
  • 2003 Finalist – Columbia Orchestra American Composer Competition
  • 2001 Composer Participant – First Annual Minnesota Orchestra Readings and Composer Institute led by Pulitzer prize winning composer Aaron Jay Kernis (2001).
